About the role#
The Bike Shop department at Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Systems Engineering Intern to join our team. You will work in an engineering environment to co-develop hardware while meeting customer and internal requirements. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplined design teams to bring concepts to life through rapid engineering, fabrication, and prototyping.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineering staff with build, integration, verification, and test activities for hardware, electronics, and mechanical systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support prototype development and design iteration cycles.
- Perform engineering design and documentation tasks, including CAD work and drawing updates.
- Conduct hands-on lab work, track configurations, and process work orders.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to project needs.
- Work in an environment with machinery, test fixtures, and instrumentation.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or higher STEM degree program (Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering).
- Must be entering at least your Sophomore year by the start of summer 2026.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance prior to the start date.
- Academic or internship experience involving hands-on testing of electronic or mechanical equipment.

- This is an on-site role based in Tucson, Arizona.
- The position is full-time and paid.
- Work follows standard business hours, though some flexibility may be required based on test schedules.
