About the role#
Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We provide immigration sponsorship if needed for this role.
What you'll do#
- Develop and optimize embedded flight-software for safety-critical systems.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, AI/ML specialists, and other software engineers.
- Implement AI-assisted onboard features, including sensor fusion and anomaly detection.
- Conduct debugging and validation using simulation and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) environments.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- Completion of at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship.
- Experience with high-level programming languages such as C, Python, or C++.
- Familiarity with Git, DevOps, and AI tools in software development.
