About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. You will join the Next-Gen Networks R&D team to work on research and development for aviation and aerospace systems. This position requires you to be a U.S. Person as defined by federal regulation. You will work on-site at our facility.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain a Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) testbed using drone hardware and software emulation.
- Set up a CI/CD pipeline to support the development of network and sensor effects within the LVC testbed.
- Create and implement test cases for end-to-end evaluation of network and sensing performance.
- Use co-pilot tools to assist in the implementation of test scenarios.
- Write and maintain code using Python, C++, and Rust.
What you'll need#
- You must be actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering and remain enrolled through the end of your internship.
- You should have a solid foundation in programming languages such as Java, Python, R, Rust, C, or C++.
- We prefer candidates with at least 2-3 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience with team-based software development tools like git and Jira is helpful.
- Proficiency in system-level languages like Rust, C, or C++ is preferred.
- We value experience in scripting and automation, including shell scripting and Python.
- Participation in teamwork and leadership activities, such as engineering clubs or service organizations, is a plus.
