About the role#
This is a full-time Mechanical Engineering internship for Summer 2027 based in Tucson, Arizona. You will join the Air Launched Effectors Department to support the design and production of products and subsystems. You will work under the supervision of an Engineering team lead and collaborate with Integrated Product Team Leads to manage risks, budgets, and schedules.
What you'll do#
- Support concept development, detailed design, analysis, integration, and testing.
- Assist with the transition to production efforts.
- Provide factory production line support and product improvement.
- Perform root cause analysis and problem resolution at on-site labs and factories.
- Prepare technical justification analysis reports and present findings to engineering review boards.
- Ensure Technical Data Package quality per ASME Y14.5 standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience with Creo modeling and drafting.
- Experience with Windchill and configuration management.
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 is preferred.
- A 3.0 cumulative GPA is desired.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to the start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required to obtain the necessary security clearance.
