About the role#
This internship places you directly within core engineering teams to tackle high-stakes technical challenges. You will move beyond observing or shadowing to take ownership of real projects that contribute to the development of Overture and the Superpower industrial gas turbine. This program is for those who prefer building hardware and solving ambiguous problems over sitting in meetings.
What you'll do#
- Work on high-stakes engineering problems alongside experienced engineers.
- Get hands-on with materials and manufacturing processes, including lab testing and production assembly.
- Support production processes that turn designs into functional hardware.
- Help design, build, and validate control systems, instrumentation, and test systems.
- Contribute to cross-functional project solutions that keep operations and development on track.
What you'll need#
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience in lab environments, machine shops, or assembly lines.
- Familiarity with CAD and mechanical design principles.
- Experience designing or testing electrical or embedded systems.
- A track record of solving real-world problems through personal projects, research, or previous roles.
- Enrollment in a relevant major such as Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Computer Engineering.
