    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Design Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will join the Compression Systems Engineering team. This group manages engineering activities for fans and compressors across our engines. You will work within an Integrated Product Team to support hardware development and design improvements.

    What you'll do#

    • Collaborate with team members on an Integrated Product Team.
    • Support the team during customer interactions.
    • Design new hardware and tooling, or improve existing hardware through Engineering Changes.
    • Perform hand calculations to support finite element models and determine criteria acceptability.
    • Manage mechanical and functional interface integration between hardware groups.
    • Evaluate hardware non-conformances from the OEM and provide recommendations.
    • Interpret blueprints using GD&T principles.

    What you'll need#

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
    • Active enrollment through the end of the internship.
    • Completion of at least 30 credit hours by the start of the internship.
    • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
    • Experience in a multidisciplinary team environment.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Experience with CAD systems, GD&T, blueprint reading, and FEM software.
    • Prior internship, co-op, or work experience with RTX is a plus.
    • U.S. citizenship is required.

    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
