About the role#
As a Cybersecurity Intern at PPL Corporation, you will join one of our specialized Enterprise Security teams. This role offers hands-on experience with real-world security challenges and projects that protect our digital infrastructure. You will work alongside experienced professionals to support our security operations and strategy.
What you'll do#
- Analyze and triage security incidents and alerts to identify threats.
- Create dashboards in SIEM tools to visualize security data.
- Automate security processes using tools like Power Automate.
- Test and document the capabilities of various security tools.
- Support cloud migration and mobile application deployment projects.
- Develop performance metrics and internal onboarding processes.
- Evaluate and communicate threat intelligence to improve organizational awareness.
- Assess and improve security configurations across our systems and platforms.
- Conduct application security evaluations and integrate security into development workflows.
- Identify, assess, and document risks for reporting and remediation planning.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- A minimum 3.00 GPA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with core cybersecurity concepts and tools.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Knowledge of SIEM tools, vulnerability scanners, or cloud platforms.
