About the role#
The Power Grid Operations (PGO) Cybersecurity Co-op program offers hands-on experience securing critical operational technology (OT) environments that support the electric grid. You will work with cybersecurity analysts, engineers, and operations staff to protect utility infrastructure. This position is a 16-week, full-time commitment.
What you'll do#
- Support substation cybersecurity, cyber asset management, and vulnerability management.
- Assist with patching, compliance, risk management, and incident response.
- Help with cybersecurity program governance.
- Contribute to asset inventory reconciliation, technology deployments, and process improvement.
- Perform data analysis to support cybersecurity initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher (3.5 or higher preferred).
- Graduation date no earlier than August 2027.
- Previous internship experience.
- Knowledge of programming languages, operating systems, and computer networks.
- Familiarity with Angular, Java, Python, and cloud environments.
- Understanding of cybersecurity and privacy principles.
- Familiarity with Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Infrastructure as Code, networking, and data center infrastructure.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases.
- Exposure to the Agile methodology.
- A willingness to learn and a growth mindset.
Location & details#
- Location: Lake Mary, Florida.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with a requirement to live within a reasonable commute to the facility.
- Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Term: Winter 2027.
