About the role#
The Duke Energy Information Technology Internship is a summer program for students to gain professional experience in the energy sector. You will work within the Enterprise Technology and Security department to support business operations. The role is full-time for a duration of 10 to 12 weeks.
What you'll do#
- Gain on-the-job experience in software engineering, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
- Contribute directly to team goals and projects within the Enterprise Technology and Security department.
- Attend site visits, information sessions, and networking events with peers and leadership.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor or master degree program for Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related IT or Engineering field.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- You must not graduate before August 2027.
- Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship.

- The position is based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
- This is a hybrid role requiring a commute to the facility.
- The internship takes place during the Summer 2027 term.
