About the role#
As a Billing Integrity Intern, you will ensure the accuracy of customer billing records within the SAP-CCS system. You will analyze billing exceptions, research account inquiries, and adjust customer bills according to state regulations for electric and gas service. This role requires an understanding of company rates and tariffs, as well as the ability to coordinate meter services and collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies.
What you'll do#
- Analyze billing exceptions and research service order or account errors in SAP-CCS.
- Maintain accurate, auditable billing records and coordinate pending service orders.
- Calculate and process billing corrections or usage estimates to ensure accurate statements.
- Explain billing adjustments to internal and external customers.
- Assist in developing and analyzing statistical, daily, and ad hoc Billing Integrity reports.
- Research accounts to provide documentation for PSC complaint responses.
- Interact with internal departments to identify and correct billing errors.
- Maintain a working knowledge of rates, rules, and regulations for utility services.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in a Bachelor degree program in business, data analytics, accounting, finance, or economics.
- Minimum 3.00 GPA.
- Ability to analyze data and perform complicated rate calculations.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, with preference for advanced Excel skills.
- Effective communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to exercise professional judgment, take ownership of problems, and work well within a team.
Location & details#
- Locations: Louisville or Lexington, Kentucky.
- Work Modality: Hybrid.
- Schedule: Part-time (approximately 20 hours per week) during spring and fall semesters; part-time or full-time (40 hours per week) during summers.
- Status: Paid internship.
