About the role#
As a Software Developer Intern, you will join our Software Development Team to build and support custom, in-house software. You will participate in the full software development lifecycle, focusing on design, development, and testing. This role involves interacting with various business disciplines across the organization to create software that supports our internal operations.
What you'll do#
- Monitor support tickets for high-priority items and assist with issue escalations.
- Use source-code management systems to check out and check in code.
- Collaborate with team members to distribute and complete tasks.
- Work with business analysts and end users to understand business processes and translate them into software designs.
- Maintain and update project documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program for software development or MIS.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and the .NET Platform, specifically C#.
- Understanding of relational database concepts, particularly Microsoft SQL Server.
- Basic knowledge of website technologies.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn new software programs.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- A strong desire to learn from experienced professionals and solve complex business problems.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The position is based on-site in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
- The role follows a rolling term schedule.
