About the role#
The Property Accounting Intern will report to a Property Accounting Team Lead in our Cincinnati office. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site to gain experience with accounting systems, the monthly close process, and reporting cycles.
What you'll do#
- Assist with month-end close duties, including reviewing rent charges and preparing monthly utility accruals.
- Review invoices to ensure they meet capitalization requirements.
- Review depreciation additions, disposals, and fixed asset roll-forwards.
- Assist with common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliations for over 300 properties.
- Document your work on projects and communicate results to supervisors.
- Develop your Excel skills and learn to reconcile accounts on the general ledger.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in an Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration degree program.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work full-time during the semester.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Capability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
