About the role#
This accounting co-op program offers students a chance to work on real estate investments. You will gain experience in private equity and finance. The program provides opportunities to work with senior management, joint venture partners, investment teams, brokers, and commercial lenders. You will also participate in training sessions to help you transition into a professional environment.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements.
- Prepare accounting reconciliations.
- Prepare and review waterfall schedules.
- Coordinate and review property level reports from Starwood Asset Management.
- Assist with complex quarterly consolidation of investment funds, including fair value GAAP adjustments.
- Assist with the preparation of debt covenant compliance reports.
- Work on special reports and other ad hoc projects.
What you'll need#
- A strong academic background, preferably in accounting. A focus in finance is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- The ability to manage and present information effectively.
- The ability to multi-task.
- Strong communication skills.
- Highly organized work habits.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
