About the role#
This Accounting Workstudy position supports core operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Real Estate Operations Accounting. You will help maintain accurate transaction processing, cash application, and account reconciliations. The role involves partnering with internal stakeholders to research discrepancies and resolve accounting issues while ensuring financial reporting remains reliable.
What you'll do#
- Process high volumes of purchase order and non-purchase order invoices.
- Manage high volumes of tenant receivable cash applications.
- Own assigned month-end and quarter-end close tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and document disposition plans for reconciling items.
- Review general ledger activity and financial results to identify unusual trends or variances.
- Account for property-level activities such as operating expenses, real estate taxes, utilities, insurance, and tenant recoveries.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or background in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Ability to process high volumes of invoices and cash applications accurately.
- Experience completing journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
- Skill in preparing balance sheet reconciliations and documenting ownership of items.
- Ability to review financial results and research issues with internal partners.
- Experience supporting accounting activities in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or Real Estate Operations.
- Experience with property-level operating activities like tenant recoveries or utility accounting.
- Willingness to use emerging technology, automation, and AI tools.
