About the role#
Starwood Capital Group is hiring a Management Company Accounting Intern for the summer of 2027. This full-time, on-site role in Greenwich, Connecticut, provides hands-on experience within a finance team. You will support core accounting tasks, including invoice processing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
What you'll do#
- Review and process incoming invoices while ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial documents.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies with vendors or internal staff.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reports.
- Compile and analyze financial data.
- Help with audit preparations.
- Perform data entry and account analysis during the month-end close process.
- Support the finance team on ad-hoc projects.
- Learn about payroll processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of 2028.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A willingness to learn.
- Familiarity with accounting software is helpful but not required.
