About the role#
The Accounting Intern will gain exposure to various areas of accounting and reporting by collaborating with team members and using technology tools. This role focuses on supporting the team through tasks that ensure financial accuracy and timeliness. You will participate in the processing of fixed assets, journal entry preparation, general ledger reconciliation, and the preparation of financial reports.
What you'll do#
- Enter data for fixed assets.
- Reconcile bank transactions.
- Obtain documentation from business unit personnel to prepare and enter journal entries.
- Run reports for internal and external use.
- Assist with monthly accounting close checklists for various departments.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Assist with the creation of assigned accrual entries.
- Summarize relevant agreements to build a working understanding of business operations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an Accounting major at an accredited university with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- A major GPA of 3.7 or higher.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Strong computer skills, specifically proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and pay close attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Motivation to take on new challenges and a willingness to ask questions or request support when needed.

- Location: El Paso, Texas.
- Term: October 2026 to April 2027.
- Modality: This is an on-site position. No remote or hybrid options are available.
- Employment: This is a paid, part-time internship.
