About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position based in Latham, New York, running from January through June 2027. You will work on-site to assist with the development and maintenance of cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of cryogenic systems and superconducting magnets.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with engineers and scientists to implement design solutions.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate the performance and reliability of prototypes.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering technology fields.
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting.
- Experience setting up and executing test protocols.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and standards in a lab environment.
- Proficiency with 3D modeling and other engineering tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
