About the role#
As a Data Engineering intern, you will join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will learn by doing real work, building data pipelines and designing infrastructure to handle large volumes of data. You will work on actual data warehousing problems and partner directly with stakeholders across Risk, Commerce, Marketing, Ops, and Finance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Philadelphia.
What you'll do#
- Scope projects with a mentor to understand design decisions and trade-offs.
- Build and maintain data pipelines that move information from operational systems to our warehouse.
- Ship code, including bug fixes and documentation updates.
- Present your completed work to the broader team.
- Meet with business owners across the company to understand how the data team supports our goals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or pursuit of a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Management, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a similar technical field.
- An expected graduation date between winter 2027 and summer 2028.
- Experience using SQL to acquire and transform data.
- Familiarity with database or data warehouse operations.
- Exposure to third-party APIs.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, with a preference for Python.
