About the role#
Perpay is offering a Data Science Internship for Summer 2027. This role is based in our Philadelphia office. You will join our data team to work on credit decisioning, loss forecasting, and marketing attribution. This is a paid, full-time, on-site position where you will learn by doing real work with our data sets.
What you'll do#
- Research, identify, and build features to train models.
- Partner with stakeholders across Engineering, Risk, Marketing, Merchandising, and Finance.
- Scope projects with a mentor, including selecting the modeling approach and evaluating trade-offs.
- Ship a model, feature, or analysis that the team relies on.
- Communicate solutions designed to drive company growth.
- Present your work to the broader team.
- Meet with various business owners to understand how the data team fits into the company.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or receiving a Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Expected graduation date between winter 2027 and summer 2028.
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistical research.
- Experience using SQL to acquire and transform data.
- Proficiency in programming, analysis, and visualization using object-oriented languages, with a preference for Python.
- Preferred: Previous work experience in a technical field, experience implementing machine learning solutions in production, and familiarity with scalable data science platforms.
