About the role#
Our data team is organized into three groups: Data Engineering, Data Science, and Strategic Analytics. As a Data Science intern, you will work on the modeling that drives our core decisions, including credit decisioning, loss forecasting, and marketing attribution. You will use our data sets to research, identify, and build features to train models that drive real impact for our customers.
What you'll do#
- Partner with stakeholders across Engineering, Risk, Marketing, Merchandising, and Finance.
- Scope your first project with a mentor, including the approach and trade-offs.
- Ship a model, feature, or analysis that the team relies on.
- Communicate solutions designed to drive company growth.
- Present your work to the broader team.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Expected graduation date between winter 2027 and summer 2028.
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistical research.
- Experience using SQL for acquiring and transforming data.
- Proficiency in programming, analysis, and visualization using object-oriented languages, with a preference for Python.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is 100% on-site at our office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
