What you'll do#
- Monitor and assist with the implementation of the project HSE plan, environmental plan, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and help conduct project-specific HSE training.
- Provide the project team with safety information and trends, and help create action plans.
- Assist with the development and use of hazard identification tools.
- Conduct project HSE inspections and verify that corrective actions are implemented.
- Support project teams with the emergency response plan and monitor security requirements.
- Review trade documentation and monitor safety compliance for trade contractors.
- Verify that equipment and tool inspections are documented as required.
- Notify stakeholders of incidents and support the investigation process.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program.
- Preference for those working toward a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Progress toward a safety designation.
- Ability to learn OH&S and environmental legislation, as well as HSE processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers.
- Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- Skill in effective problem solving.
- Willingness to learn construction processes and terminology.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
