Forward Deployed Software Engineer, Internship - Intel

About the role#

Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to understand complex problems and design technical solutions. Interns are treated as full-time engineers, taking ownership of high-stakes projects from start to finish. You will work in small teams to build software that drives real-world impact, balancing technical architecture discussions with direct collaboration with customer executives.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with customers to identify core challenges and design effective solutions.
• Manage the end-to-end execution of significant projects with minimal supervision.
• Discuss system architecture and manage massive-scale data.
• Develop custom web applications to meet specific user needs.
• Establish team strategy and contribute to project outcomes.

What you'll need#

• Active Full Scope Poly Level clearance.
• Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Must be planning to graduate in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028 (this should be your final internship).
• Ability to work independently, learn continuously, and make decisions with minimal direction.
