About the role#
Forward Deployed Software Engineers work directly with customers to understand their problems and build technical solutions. In this defense-focused role, you will help mission partners execute operations, track personnel and equipment, and integrate with legacy systems. You will work in small teams with significant independence and own projects from start to finish.
What you'll do#
- Manage end-to-end execution of high stakes projects with minimal supervision.
- Deliver Palantir Defense capabilities to critical mission partners.
- Discuss architecture with engineers, wrangle large-scale data, and code custom web applications.
- Speak with customer contacts and establish strategy for your team.
- Perform tasks similar to a full-time engineer, taking ownership of real-world outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Engineering background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C++, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
- Active US Security clearance, or the eligibility and willingness to obtain one before the internship begins.
- Current enrollment with a planned graduation date in 2027.
- Ability to work independently, learn continuously, and collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
