About the role#
As a Software Development Intern for Digital Grid Management, you will join our team for the Summer 2027 term. You will be assigned a specific project related to your team's focus, allowing you to apply your academic knowledge in a real-world environment. At the end of the term, you will present your final project to senior leadership to demonstrate your work and the goals you helped the team achieve.
What you'll do#
- Develop rich client applications that allow customers to visualize the power grid.
- Build web applications that enable customers to monitor systems, analyze outages, and predict future conditions.
- Create mobile applications for executives and field crews to track KPIs and respond to business demands.
- Design Big Data applications to drive business intelligence within the control center.
- Develop applications that use machine learning to predict renewable generation or load.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's program for Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, XMPP, HTTP, MSRP, XCAP, SOAP, REST, or DNP.
- Familiarity with platform independent tools and libraries.
- Understanding of numerical methods and the simulation of physical processes.
