About the role#
The Grid Innovation Delivery (GID) team scales new technologies into standard tools for the energy grid. As an intern, you will join the Remote Grid (RG) program, which uses islanded microgrids of solar, batteries, and fuel-powered generation to address wildfire risk. You will work with the commercial and product lead to develop a business analytics framework and analyze how the RG program integrates into the broader energy system. You will have the opportunity to help define the scope of your internship during your first few weeks to align the experience with your professional goals.
What you'll do#
- Support the Remote Grid program through cost estimation refinement, business KPI development, and market analysis.
- Navigate various data systems to create a cohesive set of metrics to guide the program.
- Participate in regular standups and working meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Deliver a final presentation to the Grid Innovation Delivery team summarizing your accomplishments and recommendations for program improvement.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, or a related quantitative field at an accredited university.
- Must have completed at least two years of college and be returning to school in the fall.
- Demonstrated interest in new technology and product development.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into compelling stories.
- Strong initiative and the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team.

- This is a full-time, paid summer 2026 internship.
- The position is based in Oakland, California, with a hybrid work schedule requiring approximately two days per week in the office.
