About the role#
The Environmental Facilities Management Intern will support the HazMat Programs and Environmental Field Specialist teams. This role provides exposure to the intersection of process development, risk management, and regulatory compliance within a utility environment. You will gain hands-on experience through facility visits, compliance assessments, and data management tasks while working alongside environmental specialists and supervisors.
What you'll do#
- Prioritize safety by adhering to all company procedures and proactively identifying and mitigating unsafe work conditions.
- Assist subject matter experts with hazardous materials release incident audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct field visits to various facilities to assist with internal compliance assessments, including data review and the assembly of summaries and reports.
- Support the water quality program by observing field work and measuring water quality parameters during construction and operational activities.
- Assist with facility documentation, including inspections for cleanliness, fire safety, and maintenance standards, as well as general data entry and record keeping.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in life and natural sciences, such as biology, geology, environmental science, or engineering.
- Status as a student returning to school full-time in the fall of 2026 at an accredited institution.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
