About the role#
The Environmental Facility Compliance Management team is seeking a seasonal intern to support HazMat programs and Environmental Field Specialist teams. This role provides exposure to risk management, procedural implementation, quality control, and regulatory compliance within a utility setting. You will work with experts to support gas and electric transmission, distribution operations, and telecom facilities.
What you'll do#
- Adhere to all safety requirements and actively identify or mitigate unsafe work conditions.
- Assist subject matter experts with hazardous materials release incident audits to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct field visits to facilities to support internal compliance assessments, including data management, findings review, and the assembly of reports.
- Inspect and document facilities for cleanliness, repairs, and safety compliance according to company standards.
- Support the water quality program by observing field work related to measuring water quality parameters during operations and construction.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry and record-keeping, including updating records and managing project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled full-time in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in biology, geology, environmental sciences, engineering, or a related life and natural science discipline.
- Must be returning to school full-time in the fall of 2026 at an accredited university or college.
- Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
