    About the role#

    This position supports the New York City English Director of Creative and Professional Writing. You will assist with the research and administration of arts activities both on and off campus. The role also includes a mentored creative writing project focused on career development.

    What you'll do#

    • Research and co-administer arts activities and events.
    • Coordinate field trips to literary organizations, plays, and readings in New York City.
    • Arrange on-campus conversations and readings with professional writers and students.
    • Co-direct the annual spring writing awards program and ceremony.
    • Conduct student creative writing readings in collaboration with Aphros magazine.
    • Research and write a creative work throughout the academic year.
    • Assist with the annual Spring Writers’ Festival.

    What you'll need#

    • Must be Work Study eligible with funding added to your awards.
    • Enrollment in at least 6 credits and good academic standing.
    • Interest in literary arts creation, administration, and event publicity.
    • Ability to design and build websites.
    • Experience completing forms and reports.
    • Interest in pursuing a career in writing or arts administration.
    • Preferred majors include English, Communications, Media Studies, or Art.

    • Location: New York, NY.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Term: Fall 2026, Winter 2027, and Spring 2027.
    • Commitment: 5 to 8 hours per week.
    • Compensation: This is a paid position.
