About the role#
The Educational Media Student A/V Technician provides technical and customer support for classrooms and event spaces across campus. You will ensure that audiovisual technology is ready to use and functioning properly for classes, meetings, presentations, and events. This role is a good fit for students interested in technology, media, communications, or customer support. We provide training and guidance, so prior professional experience is not required.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, operate, set up, test, and break down audiovisual equipment like microphones, projectors, displays, and speakers.
- Provide on-site technical support for classes, meetings, and special events.
- Perform basic troubleshooting of classroom technology and escalate complex issues to full-time staff.
- Conduct routine checks to ensure technology is ready for use.
- Assist faculty, staff, students, and event organizers with technical needs.
- Answer incoming phone calls and greet visitors in the Educational Media office.
- Take accurate messages and assist with various departmental tasks as needed.

Location & details#
- Location: Valhalla, New York.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rolling basis. You may work up to 20 hours per week when school is in session and up to 35 hours per week during breaks. Specific hours are determined with your supervisor.
