About the role#
We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our Connected Systems team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on software solutions that span embedded systems, IoT devices, cloud services, and user-facing applications. This role offers the chance to gain hands-on experience while working alongside engineers across multiple disciplines.
What you'll do#
- Assist in designing, testing, and implementing scalable and secure software components.
- Write, test, and debug code with guidance from senior engineers.
- Help troubleshoot and optimize existing codebases.
- Research new technologies, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software integrates across systems.
- Document your work and present findings or progress to the engineering team.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming experience with at least one language such as C#, Python, Javascript, or C++.
- Familiarity with software development tools like Git and CI/CD systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), frontend frameworks (React, Angular), or backend systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with IoT devices, robotics, or embedded platforms like Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or ROS is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site, full-time internship located in Huntersville, North Carolina.
- The position is paid with a range of $18.00 to $37.00 per hour.
