About the role#
This is a full-time mechanical engineering internship based in Orlando, Florida. You will work with a team of engineers across design, production, manufacturing, and testing functions at Oshkosh AeroTech. This position is for the Summer 2027 term and is an on-site role.
What you'll do#
- Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software such as CATIA.
- Generate engineering calculations for weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance estimations.
- Design, model, and test new mechanical systems that integrate with vehicles.
- Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or specific components.
- Create and manage Engineering Change Notices using the PLM system.
- Update bills of materials in the PDM system to reflect product changes.
- Select parts and components based on weight, cost, reliability, and manufacturing requirements.
- Provide technical assistance on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production builds.
- Consult with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical problems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or a related field for the entire duration of the internship.
- Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Experience using CATIA, Pro-E, or similar CAD systems is a plus.
- Strong interest in mechanical design.
