About the role#
As an Electronics & Controls Intern, you will join our team to support product development across the automotive, military, medical, aerospace, and motorsports industries. You will work on projects ranging from initial concept and proof of design through to testing, validation, and commercialization. Because we operate as a smaller engineering group, your specific tasks will vary based on current project needs and customer requirements.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with vehicle electrical architecture, including power generation, management, and storage strategies.
- Define CAN architecture and integrate vehicle communication systems.
- Research, select, and source hardware such as sensors, actuators, motors, and energy storage components.
- Design wiring harnesses and coordinate with the electronics lab for builds.
- Integrate electronic systems into vehicles and troubleshoot issues from harnessing to controller states.
- Process and analyze performance data to provide feedback for ongoing development.
- Develop and support algorithms in Simulink using rapid prototyping environments.
- Contribute to autonomy development using ROS for perception, path planning, and path following.
- Calibrate and validate software in test vehicles.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS or MS program for Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- An open mind to new challenges and a desire to learn.
