About the role#
As an Advanced Manufacturing Intern, you will work with the Manufacturing Engineering department to support our production goals and continuous improvement efforts. You will report to the Manager of Manufacturing and contribute directly to projects that improve our factory operations. This is a full-time, paid, rolling internship based on-site in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania.
What you'll do#
- Support factory data visualization to provide insights and inform decision-making.
- Create custom Ignition dashboards.
- Perform statistical analysis of weld, paint, and assembly data to build predictive models.
- Identify opportunities for automated feedback in smart torque tools, paint systems, and new robotic welding systems.
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, and ergonomic assessments.
- Analyze work stations and cells to improve productivity and quality.
- Provide input on manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
- Use AutoCAD or similar software to create and revise plant layout drawings.
- Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL.
- Familiarity with Power BI.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, or industrial process optimization.

- This role involves a mix of office-based work and time on the production floor. You may need to walk across shop floors, stand for periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and navigate varying noise levels or temperatures.
