About the role#
The Oracle Veteran Internship Program (OVIP) is designed to support transitioning military veterans and active-duty military spouses as they enter the corporate sector. This role within the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team offers hands-on experience in building and operating massive-scale, integrated cloud services. Interns work alongside corporate leadership and veteran coaches to develop professional skills and gain exposure to distributed, multi-tenant cloud environments.
What you'll do#
- Implement and operate highly available, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant environment.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to design and build high-quality technical solutions.
- Participate in agile development methodologies to deliver cloud products.
- Engage in on-the-job training and professional development to support your transition into a corporate role.
- Help prepare veterans and military spouses for a successful transition to corporate careers.
What you'll need#
- Experience with application development.
- Proficiency in at least one major programming language, such as Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python, or GoLang.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Working familiarity with networking protocols, including TCP/IP and HTTP.
- Knowledge of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, agile environment.
- Preferred: Status as a U.S. veteran transitioning from active service or an active-duty military spouse new to corporate experience.
