About the role#
Ohio Gratings, Inc. is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op for a full-time, on-site role in Canton, Ohio. You will work on real-world projects, focusing on process development, technical documentation, and product innovation. This position is designed to provide hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering.
What you'll do#
- Manage the mechanical design of manufacturing fixtures and tools from concept to implementation.
- Assist project improvement teams with engineering support and refine manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and update manufacturing and tooling prints.
- Document manufacturing processes and recommend improvements.
- Initiate corrective actions to ensure product quality.
- Research new equipment and process technologies.
- Collaborate with operations and support personnel, provide input on cost and lead time balance, and contribute to design reviews.
- Design and implement lean process plans for new products.
- Recommend methods to enhance quality and reduce costs.
- Generate assembly instructions and support manufacturing capabilities expansion.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work full-time (40-hour weeks) for the duration of the co-op term.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
- High attention to detail and a focus on process improvement.
