About the role#
Ohio Gratings, Inc. is hiring an Estimating Intern to join our team in Canton, Ohio. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position with a rolling start date. You will support our estimating department by analyzing project requirements and preparing material takeoffs.
What you'll do#
- Read, interpret, and review project drawings and specifications to define the scope of work.
- Develop accurate material takeoffs and determine quantities for individual projects.
- Identify necessary buyout items and calculate scrap factors for specialty products.
- Review bid documents and qualify any conflicts found between drawings and specifications.
- Update takeoffs when drawing revisions occur.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including Sales, Project Management, and Detailing.
- Contact customers to clarify job scope details.
- Follow company policies regarding safety, quality, and engineering standards.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with AutoCAD and ERP systems.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
