About the role#
The Product Detailer Intern supports the detailing team at Ohio Gratings, Inc. by preparing, reviewing, and improving drawings for customer approval and fabrication. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering design, project coordination, and manufacturing processes. You will learn company standards while ensuring drawings meet customer specifications and production requirements.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and review detail drawings for customer approval.
- Revise drawings based on customer feedback and prepare documentation for fabrication, such as bills of materials and packing lists.
- Coordinate detailing schedules to ensure timely delivery of drawings.
- Collaborate with team members to align detailing timelines with fabrication start dates.
- Track project progress and maintain high standards of output.
- Communicate with engineering, sales, and plant operations teams to support workflow.
- Participate in problem-solving for field claims and customer concerns.
- Support improvements to drawings and processes to increase fabrication efficiency.
- Maintain organized records for active and completed projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of drafting or detailing concepts.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability.
