About the role#
Northwood is looking for an RF Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. Based in Torrance, you will join our team to help design the next generation of ground stations. You will work alongside electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to contribute to the development process from concept through production.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of new RF hardware and improve existing designs.
- Fabricate and characterize prototypes for antennas, feeds, and active RF circuits.
- Work with hardware and software engineers to test and troubleshoot integrated RF performance.
- Provide technical support to colleagues in regulatory and site operations.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of transmission line theory and the use of the smith chart.
- Experience in Python or another language for data analysis.
- At least 1 year of experience in antenna, RF, or electrical design, fabrication, and test, including lab work or university projects.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Torrance, California.
- To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
