About the role#
The Risk Management Summer Analyst program is a 10-week internship based in New York. You will work as a full member of the team, gaining exposure to the firm's oversight of financial and non-financial risks. This program is not rotational, allowing you to focus on specific business areas while working closely with senior mentors and peers. The role is on-site and full-time.
What you'll do#
Your responsibilities depend on your assigned team and may include:
- Assist Credit Officers in analyzing credit quality and evaluating proposed transactions.
- Conduct industry research to identify trends.
- Participate in the risk management of traded positions, including cash and derivatives.
- Protect the firm from non-financial risks like fraud, conduct issues, and cyber risk.
- Support deep-dive reviews to test processes and controls.
- Develop risk modelling frameworks and quantify potential losses.
- Review model documentation, evaluate conceptual soundness, and analyze model assumptions.
- Process data and perform statistical analyses for validation reports.
- Provide governance for new business and coordinate approval processes.
- Design risk reports and dashboards while ensuring reporting tools function correctly.
- Maintain data integrity and assist Risk Managers in resolving data quality issues.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance.
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Outstanding academic qualifications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- A motivated approach to work and a working knowledge of the financial services industry.
- Current authorization to work for any employer in the United States without the need for sponsorship, now or in the future.
