About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within our AI Development team. You will report to an AI Development Team Lead and work alongside software developers and business stakeholders. The role focuses on researching, developing, and testing AI-driven solutions to improve our internal processes and software lifecycle. You will explore technologies like generative AI, machine learning, and intelligent automation while contributing to real-world projects.
What you'll do#
- Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies, tools, and frameworks.
- Support the development, testing, and documentation of AI-driven solutions and proof-of-concepts.
- Analyze business processes to find opportunities for automation and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and explore use cases.
- Perform testing and validation of AI solutions and software enhancements.
- Assist with data organization and analysis for machine learning initiatives.
- Document findings and project updates in internal tools.
- Communicate regularly with team members and stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Familiarity with AI concepts such as machine learning, generative AI, natural language processing, and intelligent automation.
- Experience with programming languages like Python or Java.
- Understanding of data analysis, data structures, and databases.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools or cloud-based AI services.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.

Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027 (May to August).
- Status: Full-time and paid.
- Modality: Hybrid. You will work from the office 3 to 5 days per week.
- Locations: Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Lake Saint Louis, Missouri.
