About the role#
The New York Post is seeking an Assistant Digital Production Intern to join our newsroom. This role offers hands-on experience in digital media, where you will help craft and optimize content for our online platforms. This is a part-time, paid position for Fall 2026, open to current juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year.
What you'll do#
- Gather and create content from wire services that aligns with our editorial voice.
- Pitch and write original stories that resonate with our online audience.
- Collaborate with web and social media teams to cover breaking news.
- Use analytics tools to monitor audience engagement and identify trends.
- Maintain live stories by updating them with relevant information, photos, and links.
- Implement strategies to improve content recirculation using digital tools.
What you'll need#
- A background in Journalism, Communications, or Media Studies.
- Ability to identify trending topics and compelling stories.
- Experience or interest in using analytics tools to track engagement.
- Strong organizational skills and a focus on editorial standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a newsroom environment.
- Proficiency in finding and incorporating multimedia to enhance digital stories.
