About the role#
The National Youth Advocate Program is seeking a Master's Level Intern for the Behavioral Health team in West Palm Beach, Florida. This position is for the Winter 2027 term and requires full-time commitment. You will gain hands-on experience working with youth and families while observing various therapeutic areas within the agency.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
- Manage cases and provide transportation for youth and families.
- Coordinate and monitor community-based services including mental health, medical, educational, and vocational support.
- Travel to provide services in compliance with regulatory and contract requirements.
- Review and update youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
- Assist in family reunification and stabilization efforts.
- Complete all required documentation and training on time.
- Participate in weekly supervision.
- Meet or exceed established outcome thresholds.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Master of Social Work program at an accredited college or university where the internship is a degree requirement.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
- Experience working in direct service with youth and families is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with computers, smartphones, tablets, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Ability to maintain professional and objective standards.
- Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and respond to the needs of youth, foster caregivers, and partners.
- A valid driver's license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
