    About the role#

    The National Youth Advocate Program is accepting applications for a Behavioral Health Internship with our STAR school-based team in Columbus. This role provides hands-on experience working with youth in schools and the community. You will collaborate with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners. You will also have opportunities to observe other therapeutic areas within the agency to gain broader insight into the clients we serve.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
    • Manage cases and coordinate services including mental health, medical, educational, and social support.
    • Travel to provide community-based services to youth and families.
    • Transport clients as needed.
    • Complete all required documentation and training in a timely manner.
    • Review and modify youth-based plans to track progress toward goals.
    • Participate in weekly supervision.
    • Meet or exceed established outcomes thresholds.

    What you'll need#

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
    • Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program for Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
    • Requirement for an internship or field placement from your academic institution.
    • LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
    • Experience working in direct service with youth and families is strongly preferred.
    • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and standard office software.
    • Valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
    • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
    • Ability to maintain professional objectivity and work flexible, non-traditional hours.

    • This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling term.
