    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience within the Behavioral Health team at the National Youth Advocate Program. You will work with youth and adolescents in the PASS program in Columbus, Ohio. You will also observe other therapeutic areas across the agency to gain insight into the communities and clients we serve. This is an unpaid, full-time, on-site role for the Winter 2027 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
    • Manage cases and coordinate services including medical, educational, and vocational support.
    • Travel to provide community-based services to youth and families.
    • Complete all required training and documentation on time.
    • Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
    • Build relationships with foster parents and families of origin.
    • Provide crisis response, safety assessments, and behavioral stabilization.
    • Participate in weekly supervision.
    • Provide transportation as needed.
    • Meet established outcome thresholds.

    What you'll need#

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field.
    • Current enrollment in a Master’s program for Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
    • An internship or field placement requirement from your academic institution.
    • LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
    • A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
    • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
    • Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and office equipment like printers and fax machines.
    • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
