About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience working with the foster care population in Sharonville, Ohio. You will work closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners. The role also offers opportunities to observe therapeutic areas across the agency to gain insight into the clients and communities we serve.
What you'll do#
- Work directly with foster care youth and foster parents.
- Assist with case management tasks.
- Learn to create diagnostic assessments and treatment plans.
- Assess and engage with youth.
- Observe interventions for youth.
- Interact with caregivers, parents, school staff, office staff, and mental health professionals.
- Learn professional documentation and paperwork procedures.
- Travel daily to provide community-based services to youth and families.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Social Work program at an accredited college or university.
- A requirement from your institution to complete an internship or field placement.
- Proficiency with computers, smartphones, tablets, and software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.
