About the role#
The National Youth Advocate Program offers an internship for students in the Behavioral Health team. You will work directly with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners. This role provides hands-on experience in both office and community settings. You will also observe various therapeutic areas within the agency to better understand our clients and the communities we serve.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual, group, and family mental health services.
- Manage cases and coordinate services for youth and families, including medical, educational, and social support.
- Travel to provide community-based services.
- Assist in family reunification and stabilization efforts.
- Review and modify youth-based plans to ensure progress toward goals.
- Complete all required training and documentation on time.
- Participate in weekly supervision.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a comparable Human Services field.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Master’s program for Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
- Verification that this internship is a requirement for your degree program.
- LSW, SWT, or CT licensure.
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and office equipment like printers and fax machines.
- Skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
- Ability to remain professional and objective at all times.
- A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 for bodily injury liability.

- Location: Cleveland, Ohio.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
