    About the role#

    This internship provides hands-on experience within the foster care system. You will work directly with youth and foster parents in a community-based setting. The role includes opportunities to rotate through different agency departments to build a broader understanding of our work. This is an unpaid, full-time position for students pursuing degrees in Sociology, Psychology, or Public Health.

    What you'll do#

    • Manage cases and assist with foster care youth.
    • Learn to create diagnostic assessments and treatment plans.
    • Assess and engage with youth while observing professional interventions.
    • Coordinate with caregivers, parents, foster parents, school staff, and mental health professionals.
    • Complete necessary documentation and paperwork.
    • Travel daily to provide services directly to families in the community.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master of Social Work program.
    • An internship or field placement requirement from your academic institution.
    • LSW or SWT licensure, or CT for LPC students if you are a master’s intern.
    • Proficiency with computers, tablets, smartphones, and office software like spreadsheets and databases.
    • A valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
    • Automobile insurance with $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability coverage.

    • Location: Cleveland, Ohio.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
