About the role#
The National Renewable Energy Laboratory is seeking a graduate intern to join the Wind Energy Impacts and End of Service Technical Assistance project. This role focuses on improving access to information regarding the decommissioning of energy projects and advancing community preparedness through research and analysis. You will work on projects that evaluate economic, job, and workforce impacts related to wind project decommissioning and replacement generation scenarios.
What you'll do#
- Conduct outreach to community organizations, local and state representatives, and subject matter experts.
- Perform research and data analysis to evaluate economic, job, and workforce impacts.
- Analyze and model various decommissioning and replacement generation scenarios.
- Develop resources and information materials to support knowledge sharing between stakeholders.
- Assist in writing quality reports that analyze decommissioning scenarios.
What you'll need#
- Full-time enrollment in a master's degree program.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
- Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and interviewing.
- Proven economic or financial analysis skills.
- Strong technical communication skills.
- Academic background in Economics, Public Health, Political Science, Environmental Engineering, or Business Administration.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based in Boulder, Colorado, with both remote and on-site work modalities.
- This is a rolling, year-round position.
