About the role#
This internship within the Pharmacokinetics, Dynamics, Metabolism, and Bioanalytics division supports the development of a Design of Experiments (DOE) guided decision tree for bioanalytical method development. You will gain hands-on experience with modern bioanalytical technologies and contribute to a practical framework for assay optimization. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting 10-12 consecutive weeks.
What you'll do#
- Analyze experimental and operational bioanalytical datasets.
- Review common method-development workflows and identify key assay parameters that influence performance.
- Organize variables into a structured framework using DOE principles.
- Develop a practical decision tree that connects assay performance challenges with recommended experimental steps.
- Support the creation of automated tools for data review, visualization, and reporting.
- Assist with assay performance investigations and trend analyses.
- Prepare technical summaries and presentations to share project findings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related life science field.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Full-time enrollment in the Fall Semester following the internship.
- Ability to complete the 10-12 week program between May and August 2027.
- Basic laboratory skills and research experience with ligand binding assays.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with bioanalytical or clinical laboratory data, molecular biology, immunology, or flow cytometry is a plus.
