About the role#
The Future Talent Program offers 10-12 week summer internships within the Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) Epidemiology and RWE Capabilities & Analytics team. Interns work on projects that provide insight into the application of epidemiology and statistical methods within the pharmaceutical industry. This is a paid, full-time position.
What you'll do#
- Conduct targeted literature reviews to summarize background information.
- Analyze real-world health data to identify disease patterns or evaluate data quality.
- Develop and validate prediction models.
- Interpret study results and contribute to manuscript writing and protocol development.
- Create and update visualization tools, such as dashboards or geospatial visuals.
- Develop materials related to artificial intelligence and machine learning methods.
- Present research findings to internal and external audiences.
- Participate in departmental and project team meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a PhD program for epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, data science, biomedical informatics, or a related field.
- Current enrollment in a PharmD program with relevant training in epidemiology.
- Completion of at least two semesters of graduate work by May 30, 2027.
- Commitment to a 10-12 week full-time schedule starting in May or June 2027.
- Intent to return to school in Fall 2027.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with systematic or target literature reviews.
- Preferred: Knowledge of SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
- Preferred: Familiarity with real-world data and databases.
- Interest in areas such as genetics, biomarkers, geospatial analysis, policy, PROs/COAs, or machine learning is a plus.
