About the role#
The Future Talent Program offers a 6-month co-op opportunity within the Neuroscience team. You will support mass spectrometry-based proteomics studies, including biological sample preparation and data-independent acquisition (DIA) data analysis. This role is designed to provide development experience while you contribute to CNS drug discovery projects under supervision.
What you'll do#
- Support sample preparation for discovery and targeted proteomics studies using biological samples.
- Assist with the execution, analysis, and troubleshooting of LC-MS-based proteomics workflows.
- Analyze and quality-check proteomics data using Skyline, EncyclopeDIA, Spectronaut, or comparable software.
- Contribute to the optimization and automation of proteomics sample-preparation workflows.
- Organize, interpret, graph, and communicate data to teams and stakeholders.
- Monitor and interpret published work to guide research and collaborate with functional areas.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BS, BA, or graduate degree program in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, analytical chemistry, bioengineering, neuroscience, pharmacology, computational biology, or a related discipline.
- Completion of at least 2 years toward your degree by the co-op start date.
- Availability to work full-time for 6 months beginning in early to mid-2027.
- Hands-on experience with basic biology or chemistry laboratory procedures.
- Foundational knowledge of proteins, peptides, enzymatic digestion, chromatography, mass spectrometry, or quantitative bioanalysis.
- Basic familiarity with DIA proteomics and experience using software like Skyline, EncyclopeDIA, or Spectronaut.
- Ability to perform accurate data analysis, graph results, and prepare clear scientific presentations or reports.
- Ability to work independently, learn new workflows, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Preferred experience includes coursework or research in proteomics, bioinformatics, or neuroscience, as well as experience with automated platforms like AssayMAP or KingFisher.
